Fair by code.

GTStar is a 60-second mining game on Sui. Players deploy SUI, one tile wins the pot, and every round mines GTS: a token with a halving, no premine, and a game that buys it back and burns it. The rules are locked on-chain: no one can change them, the creator included.

31,316GTS at most, by the halving

3%Of every losing pot is paid in SUI to stakers

Overview

Why players and holders choose GTStar.

  • Fair launch. Zero GTS existed before the first round. No premine, no team allocation, no presale: every GTS in circulation was mined by a player.
  • Scarce by code. The mining reward is cut in half as GTS is mined, so 31,316 GTS is all that can ever be mined.
  • Deflation built in. Every round, 3% of the losing pot buys GTS on the market and burns it for good. The game does this itself, inside the draw.
  • Holders earn SUI. 3% of every losing pot is paid in SUI to everyone staking GTS. Nothing is minted for it.
  • Locked liquidity. 2% of every losing pot goes into the GTS/SUI pool, in positions held by the game. The game has no function to take them out, and the trading fees they earn go back into the pool.
  • Runs by itself. The rules are locked. Nobody, the creator included, can change the game's code, its fees or its settings, or pause it. Anyone can draw a round, and is paid 1% of its losing pot for it.
  • Provably random. Winners are drawn with Sui's on-chain randomness. No server, operator or player can see or steer the result.
  • Non-custodial. The app holds no keys and no funds. Every action is signed in your own wallet.

How to play

Play a round, mine GTS.

DeploySUI on up to 5 of the 25 tiles
Wait60 seconds per round
DrawOne winning tile, drawn on-chain
ClaimSUI for winners, GTS for everyone
  • A round starts with its first deposit and lasts 60 seconds. Minimum 0.0005 SUI per tile.
  • Deposits close 5 seconds before the end. Until then the board is public, so a late deposit can react to earlier ones.
  • When time is up, one winning tile is drawn on-chain. Anyone can trigger the draw, and whoever does is paid 1% of the losing pot.

What you win

Winners get their stake on the winning tile back, plus 90% of everything deployed on the other 24 tiles, split by what each player put on the winning tile. A win is a full win: you keep your whole share. More tiles win more often, but the SUI on your other tiles is lost every time.

losing_pot = total_deposits - winning_tile_total my_payout = my_stake + losing_pot * 90% * my_stake / winning_tile_total

Mining GTS

Every SUI you deploy mines GTS, win or lose. A round mints up to the current reward (1 GTS until the first halving), shared by SUI deployed. It mints the full reward when it holds 7 SUI or more, and a matching part below that: 1 SUI mines about 0.143 GTS until the first halving.

round_gts = reward * min(round_total, 7 SUI) / 7 SUI my_gts = round_gts * my_deposit / round_total

Unrefined GTS

Mined GTS waits in your unrefined balance and you withdraw it whenever you want. Each wallet has a 7-day clock: once it runs out, withdrawing is free. Before that the fee falls evenly from 10% to 0. Half the fee is burned, and half is paid to everyone still holding unrefined GTS, so patient holders are paid by early sellers.

The clock is weighted by amount. GTS you mine now starts its own 7 days, and your clock moves to the average of what you hold and what you just mined: 5 GTS with 3 days left plus 1 new GTS leaves 3 days and 16 hours for all 6. A withdrawal takes your whole balance. Every wallet pays the same fee, GTStar's own bots included.

fee = 10% * time_left / 7 days (0 once the clock has run out) withdraw = my_unrefined - fee + my_share_of_others_fees

Wealth Fund

The Wealth Fund is a jackpot in SUI that grows until one player takes all of it. No fee pays for it: when no one is on the winning tile, the whole pot of that round, less the fees, goes into the fund. Every round has a 1 in 250 chance to pay the whole fund to one ticket, drawn at random.

Tickets come on their own: the 10% fee on the SUI you lose is your tickets, counted since the last payout. You do not need to win your tile to take the fund, and splitting SUI across wallets gives no extra tickets.

my_chance = my_tickets / all_tickets (when the fund pays, 1 in 250 each round)

The token

Hard to make. Halved as it is mined. Bought back and burned.

Supply and the halving

There is no source of GTS other than mining. A full round mints 1 GTS at the start, and the reward is cut in half as GTS is mined: the first halving comes at 15,658 GTS mined, the next after 7,829 more, the next after 3,914.5 more, and so on. Every step mints half as much as the one before it, so 31,316 GTS is all that can ever be mined.

The halving goes by GTS mined, not by time and not by the number of rounds. A small round mines little and moves the halving just as little, so nobody can hurry it with empty rounds, and the GTS that is left waits for real play.

reward = 1 GTS / 2 ^ halvings halving k = at 31,316 * (1 - 1 / 2^k) GTS mined (15,658 · 23,487 · 27,401.5 · ...) total < 31,316 GTS

Where the losing pot goes

Fees come only from the losing pot, never from a winner's stake.

When no one is on the winning tile there are no winners, and their 90% goes to the Wealth Fund.

Built to hold value

GTS is designed as a store of value that a game keeps feeding. Six rules work for holders in every round:

  • Halved as it is mined. 31,316 GTS at most, and each half is harder to mine than the one before.
  • Expensive to create. A round needs 7 SUI to mint its full reward. Mining one GTS costs about 0.67 SUI in fees until the first halving, and twice as much after every halving.
  • Bought back and burned. 3% of every losing pot buys GTS on the market and burns it in the same transaction. More play means more GTS gone for good.
  • It balances itself. The buyback spends SUI, so the lower the price, the more GTS it burns. Below about 0.20 SUI per GTS a full round burns more GTS than it mints, and that price doubles with every halving.
  • Holders are paid in SUI. 3% of every losing pot goes to stakers, so holding GTS earns from every round played.
  • Liquidity only grows. 2% of every losing pot is added to the pool, in positions held by the game. The game has no function to remove them, and their trading fees are added back too. Anyone can add to this locked liquidity, GTStar's own included: give the game a whole position of the pool, or GTS and SUI at the pool price (Tokenomics page).

Withdrawing mined GTS before 7 days also costs up to 10%: half is burned, half goes to everyone still holding. What these rules do not do is set the price. GTS has no reserve and cannot be redeemed for SUI: the market decides what it is worth.

Staking

Stake GTS and earn SUI: stakers share 3% of every losing pot, split by the GTS each one staked. Nothing is minted for it, so staking never dilutes holders.

  • No lock. Your stake can leave at any time.
  • One hour of warm-up. New stake starts earning one hour after it is staked. So staking right before a large round and leaving right after it earns nothing: the yield goes to those who were already staked.
my_sui_yield = round_share * my_stake / all_stake (stake that is past its first hour)

How the buyback runs

No wallet holds the buyback or liquidity SUI, and the game has no function that lets any address take it. The draw itself spends it on the Cetus GTS/SUI pool, before the winner is drawn:

  • Buyback. Once 0.005 SUI is saved, the draw buys GTS and burns all of it.
  • Liquidity. Once 0.05 SUI is saved, the draw buys GTS with 49% of it and adds the GTS with the matching SUI to a position locked in the game.
  • The 2% limit. One draw's buys can lift the price at most 2% above the price after the previous draw. Pushing the price up before a draw does not make the game buy higher: it buys less, and the rest waits for a later draw.
  • If Cetus stops. The game does not stop with it: rounds are drawn without the market step, and the SUI for the buyback and liquidity is saved. After 7 days without a usable market it goes to the Wealth Fund instead, so nothing is ever stuck.
  • If Cetus upgrades. The game can be linked to the new Cetus version, and that is all its upgrade key can do (see Verify).

Verify

Don't trust, verify.

Locked for good

The game runs by its code alone. Every item below can be checked in the on-chain proofs further down.

  • The settings. The settings key (AdminCap) is destroyed. The fees, the Wealth Fund odds, the minimum deposit, the round length, the 5-tile limit and the withdraw fee are fixed, and the game can never be paused.
  • The code. The upgrade key is restricted, for good, to dependency-only upgrades. It cannot change a line of the game's own code.
  • The supply. The halving is part of that code and no function can change it: 31,316 GTS is the most that can ever be mined. The right to mint is held by immutable contracts, and only the game can use it.
  • The token. Its name, symbol, icon and description are frozen.
  • No hidden rights. No function is kept for the creator or for any bot: they play, draw and stake through the same calls as everyone. No wallet can be blocked from playing, claiming or withdrawing.
  • No site needed. This site is only a window. Anyone can play, draw and claim straight from the contract, and all the code is public.

The one thing the creator can do

The creator's address 0x51417aedc9cd847adc087d75a7d5a647fc1ea63744ac607c518b6c458c30bd4e holds the restricted upgrade key. It can do one thing: link the game to a newer version of a package the game uses. That exists for Cetus: if Cetus moves to a new version, the buyback and the liquidity add need the new link to keep running. Such an upgrade keeps the game's code exactly as it is, so it cannot change the rules or the fees, take SUI, GTS or liquidity out of the game, or pause it. Only the publisher of a package can publish a new version of it, so the key cannot point the game at a fake Cetus.

The creator fee, 1% of every losing pot, is paid to 0xa19b2d37f95ca4c48efafb2cd01d0f97f33852457daa27cfba3de37fdec24d4b. It is fixed in the code like everything else.

Good to know

  • This is a game of chance. In SUI, the expected return of a round is negative: 10% of every losing pot goes to fees, and a round no one wins goes to the Wealth Fund.
  • Mining has an end. After a few halvings the reward is small; the game keeps running as it is, and its fees keep buying back GTS and paying stakers.
  • Very small rounds pay the drawer less than a draw costs in gas (1% of the losing pot against about 0.005 SUI). They are drawn by the next player who wants to play, or by GTStar's bot at a loss.
  • GTStar runs two bots: one draws rounds, as anyone can, and one joins rounds that players are already in, with its own SUI. No GTStar bot opens a round by itself. The contract gives them no right a player does not have: the joining bot wins, loses and holds Wealth Fund tickets like any player. Six GTStar wallets named in the contract get no tickets.
  • The 5-tile limit works per wallet. Someone who covers the board with several wallets pays only the fees on the losing tiles: about 0.67 SUI for each GTS mined, until the first halving.
  • The buyback and the liquidity add run on Cetus. If Cetus stops for good they end, and that share goes to the Wealth Fund.
  • A locked game cannot be fixed. If a bug is found in its code, nobody can patch it.

Playing involves risk: tiles that do not win lose their deposit, the price of GTS can fall, and smart contracts can contain bugs. Only play with what you can afford to lose. The on-chain code is the source of truth.
